What is Botox?
BOTOX® is a revolutionary non-surgical treatment for mild to moderate wrinkles using highly purified botulinum toxin protein refined from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum administered to relax contractions in the muscle effectively reducing wrinkles.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the most extensively studied medical aesthetic treatments and is approved for cosmetic use in 78 countries, including Canada. BOTOX® Cosmetic has a record of experience that aesthetic providers know and trust.
What can Botox do for me?
At NCBC Med-Laser, our muscle relaxant injections will make you feel brand new! All injections are administered by certified medical staff and we use authentic Allergan brand Botox®. The applications of Botox® are both far-reaching and versatile, including:
- Frown lines
- Forehead lines
- Crow’s feet
- Smoke and lip lines
- Neck lift
- Jawline reduction
- Bunny lines
- Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating on hands, feet, or underarms)
- Lower face contouring
- Chin relaxation
- Facial scars
- Calf reduction
- Gummy smile
Treatment requires minimal downtime or recovery; it’s often called a lunchtime procedure. You’ll be able to go about your normal routine after you leave the clinic. Results last four-six months.
Post-treatment care for Botox
For an optimal experience, patients are advised to follow post-treatment recovery instructions carefully.
FOR THE FIRST 4 HOURS…
- Avoid lying down flat or bending far forward.
FOR THE FIRST 8 HOURS…
- Avoid rubbing or touching the treated area.
FOR THE FIRST 24 HOURS…
- Avoid drinking any alcohol.
- Avoid heavy exercise or any activity that increases your heartbeat.
- Avoid being in a hot tub or jacuzzi.
There may be redness in the injected area– you can expect this to go down 2-3 hours after treatment.
Avoid exposing the treated area to sunlight.
If you choose to apply make-up to the treated area, be very gentle with the skin.
You may apply an icepack to prevent bruising. If bruising happens, you may cover it with make-up. Arnica cream or pill is helpful for reduction.
Full results are achieved 2 weeks after injection. To schedule a touch-up after 2 weeks, call or email us. Just a reminder: for 72 hours before your next Botox or filler procedure, it is recommended to avoid taking blood-thinning medication such as Ibuprofen, Advil, or Aspirin.
