Stretch Mark Removal

What can the stretch mark removal procedure do for me?

Skin is delicate and its collagen and elastin often breaks down with rapid stretching such as in growth spurts, weight fluctuation, or pregnancy. In these cases, the dermis may tear and the body heals itself resulting in a form of scarring called stretch marks. These are difficult to treat with conventional methods such as topical creams, and more intensive procedures are recommended for effective results, including fractional laser procedures and micro needling to camouflage the surface blemishes. Abdominal stretch marks, including post-partum, are a common treatment site, as are the legs, thighs, buttocks, and chest.

Before & After

Fractional Laser

The Cynosure Palomar 1540 non-ablative fractional laser uses high-precision microbeams to penetrate the skin, heat and remodel the collagen stores to improve the appearance of stretch marks. The 1540 is the only FDA-cleared laser for this treatment. The XD Microlens allows for deeper penetration to reach the tough conditions of stretch marks.

Micro Needling

Medical Skin Needling is an innovative non-invasive collagen stimulation procedure which promotes the renewal of the skin scarred with stretch marks. At NCBC Med-Laser, we have refined our skin needling technique using the latest technology and proven methods to bring out the potential of your skin while minimizing discomfort and downtime.

The medical grade application involves rolling a special handheld device embedded with tiny surgical grade stainless steel needles over the skin which creates thousands of micro-channels and penetrates the upper dermis responsible for generating collagen and elastin. This uses the skin’s natural healing process to release growth factors, stimulate fibroblasts, and increase cell proliferation. The procedure uses no heat and is a more cost-effective option than laser-based procedures. Since some clients seeking similar results do not benefit from light-based procedures (common in those with darker complexions), Medical Skin Needling is an excellent alternative to achieve their skin care goals and reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

If the stretch marks appear as a result of pregnancy, the most effective time to take action is as soon as possible once the pregnancy is over. Otherwise, best results are achieved while the marks are still pinkish, as a more silver tone indicates a more deeply embedded mark.
