What is the procedure like?

The injections are administered at our clinic by a qualified, experienced injector in the underside of the chin and the session typically takes under half an hour. The injections are administered over a course of about 4-6 sessions scheduled about a month apart to give the body time to flush the fat (treatment is tailored to the amount of fat under the chin and aesthetic goals). How does it work?

Belkyra™ is a formulation of deoxycholic acid, a fat emulcifier found naturally within the body to break down and absorb fat. It works in these unwanted fat deposits to disrupt the membranes of fat cells and dissolve the free fatty acids and glycerol within them which are then processed as waste by the body. This fat-metabolizing agent takes advantage of a biological mechanism our bodies are already very adept at carrying out.
